So for the first time today I just replaced a reciptical or what most call a outlet. With only these tools(look at the picture) plus a flashlight I forgot to take a pic of.
So how did I do it? Well first I had to go to the circut breacker and cut off power supply to my bedroom since I dont want to rope. Then I had to use a flat head to take the outlet cover out of my wall. 2 screws to hold the outlet on the wall. Both should be flat head if its a old ass outlet but if its a new one then itll be a winged nut. Take em out.
Use wire cutters to snip the wire. Dont bother with preserving the copper outside the wire insutlation. Its been crushed enough to be uncrushable. Somthing I did not know until it was too late, before you strip the insulation from the wire, theres a flat channel on the back side of the outlet. Itll show how long of a strip you need to take out the insultation. Only snip 1 peice of wire at a time. That way you dont fuck up witch wire goes were. Other wise its gold side with black wire and silver side with neutral. Green screw is with the ground wire. You know what fuck this. If you want to learn out to do this shit the video is avaliable for you to watch. Im not your kidnergarden teacher. The video will tell all you need to know.
