I just can’t decide which one I like better in Skyrim, great sword or war hammer

The great sword swings faster, goes better with light armor, and has better kill cams. But the war hammer feels way more badass, and it’s so much more satisfying for me to absolutely crush enemies with a few bonks.

But god damn the swing speed is so slow and you’ll eat so much damage, and if you use a war hammer with heavy armor, you are so vulnerable to mages and other agile slippery enemies with high health that they practically rape you early to mid game. You don’t get powerful with this build until you’re adequately leveled and I want to start off viable.

Not to mention that the heavy armor is clunky so you won’t be getting any sneaky first hits in until you level the heavy armor skill tree enough to get quieter movement.

To counteract this I made a build using a warhammer and light armor, the light armor is to be more agile but also be able to get the satisfying crushing feeling of the warhammer. It’s been working so far, haven’t died once even though I came close 2 or 3 times, the enemies just die too fast for them to succeed in killing me. The high damage plus increased movement speed really helps.

I’ve just been playing between two saves, my great sword save and my warhammer save. They’re both satisfying but in different ways.
