Or is an office just a set for normies to go to everyday, have coffee breaks and socialize and feel like they're part of society? I feel like offices shouldn't have to exist anymore now that any task can be done remotely.

Yeah this is my thinking but why are they even hired? Is it just to create an illusion of a community? Because everyone can't possibly bring value. A bricklayer is valued by how many bricks he lays, the titles people at office jobs just seem like made up bullshit.

There's a yt video by Luke Smith called "The economy is fake, the jobs are fake, the money is fake" which explains this better than I ever could. These guys are hired so they can do made up work to receive salaries meant to go towards buying companies products. This is to keep money in circulation to keep the economy flowing. Inflation makes saving money useless so that works even more into the corporations favor as normies are forced to spend the money they receive.

Yeah, meetings have always confused me. It made sense in the 60's but why not just create an email chain with suggestions? More efficient. Why schedule a physical meeting and have that for an hour. Normies are so desperate to socialize all the time.

Office time is roughly 90% spent checking what other employees are doing in the remainder 10% (give or take).

So, someone goes to an office to do ~48 minutes of actual work and ~7h12 minutes of checking whether the other employees are putting their regular 48 minutes of actual work.

Of course, those numbers vary. Highly efficient workplaces are more like 80/20 while the most controlling ones are even worse.

I've been working office jobs since 2004.

Normies would show up, do their work, socialize during breaks and then leave on time because they have a family to get back to and/or fun social lives -- places to go to, people to meet. Sometimes, the office Chad and Stacey would flirt with each other or go out for lunch or leave together after work hours.

As an incel without much of a social life, I'd work late into the evening on an almost daily basis. Doing so enabled me to stay ahead of schedule and complete my work on time. My bosses noticed by efforts and even rewarded for it with raises, promotions and gifts. But looking back I feel it wasn't actually worth it because I had made my job my main priority in life while others were enjoying life with their families and significant others. But then again, I don't regret the past because it's not like I had anything better to do with my time.

I work an office job, I work for probably 2 hours a day. When I am at home I watch YouTube or porn and in the office I’m on the phone or walk around the city, I don’t socialise cause everyone talks about their spouse and kids
