It now seems to mean any man with any form of misogynistic opinions, even if they're married with children are called "incels". Literal virgins call themselves "virgin but not incel".
This obviously runs into problems though because "incel" is a compound word that explicitly spells out EXACTLY what it means. It just means "involuntary celibate" so people are fighting hard to gaslight people into changing the meaning. It's hard to change a meaning of a word containing two separate concepts that rely on eachother for the meaning, because every time someone new looks at the word, they immediately understand it for what it's actually saying. Language is about ease of communication and trying to convince someone that someone with a wife and children can be involuntarily celibate, just breaks down that understanding. It's like trying to convince someone that an omnivore is someone who only eats meat, when omni + vore literally means that they eat both plants and meat. It's condtradictory to the very meaning of the word itself.
But they have to push for incel not meaning what it actually means because they're scared. Because suddenly all adult male virgins are then incel then there's a chance of organisation and sharing of a community. So they have to try to convince people that incel means a terrible woman hating terrorist. They have to make the word less appealing and accessible to involuntary celibates. That's where you get "incel without hate" and "virgin but not an incel".
Incel has nothing to do with your attitude towards women. It's a state of being. As with the omnivore examples, even if all the political forces in the world try to change the meaning into "meat eater", it just takes one look at the word to see what it actually means.
