It's not good to go cold turkey. Slowly stop drinking alcohol so you don't get withdrawal

EtOH withdrawl will literally kill you, you have to slowly come off of it instead of quitting cold turkey. It isn't like heroin where you only feel like you're dying, you will actually die if you get to the point where you get uncontrollably shaky. Drink a light beer or take half a shot if you think it's getting worse because the shit the hospital will put you through (if someone takes you there) is apparently absolute hell
