Not only does it cause me tremendous anxiety (from not getting enough oxygen), but it makes me look like a low iq retard. Not to mention how it impacts facial development

i have a slightly recessed chin and it doesnt really matter to me anymore...

do you mouth breathe due to allergies?

I'm not concerned about my chin, as it doesn't have extreme recession. I recently found out i'm alergic to certain foods (cheese/milk) and hay fever, but I don't eat alot of cheese, nor am I around grass very much. However, I did have a septoplasty (to fix deviated septum) and a turbinate reduction. I can breathe through my nose a little better, but still struggle most of the time. However, I don't think fixing my nose will prevent me from mouthbreathing. When you mouthbreathe, your tongue doesn't push your face forward and outwards. This results in a smaller and more narrow palate. However, your tongue continues to grow, becoming too big for your mouth. This causes mewing (tongue on roof) to be very cramped and difficult, and your tongue eventually droops back into your lower mouth (and your throat when you sleep, causing sleep apnea)
