I think they're just saying that because the idea of dying and not existing anymore is terrifying. I mean just look at this AskReddit thread.
My issue with death is not knowing if there's something afterward and rather not risk it.
I think most people put the inconceivable idea of what it means to "stop existing" out of their minds, because it's too impossible to understand.
Emba sure had a lot of porn magazines!More like they're afraid of what society thinks of them when they die. Normies run off of external validation, we lived our lives in quarantine for fuck sakes
death is the least concern
Stoic's meI concur.
But seriously, why worry about something that you cannot change at all. You are going to die, and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Put your worry in things you can change.
I wonder why when you tell someone with a loaded gun pointing at you, to shoot you, they never do. (I've been armed-robbed more than once)why would I care about death? it's not like I'm particularly attached to anything in the material world and my daily life is usually a consistent cycle of being depressed, frustrated, anxious and alone
ofc you're still biologically wired to be afraid if someone points a loaded gun at your face, but overall the concept of dying doesn't really bother me. I find it interesting more than anything. if there's an afterlife, cool. if I get reincarnated, cool. if there's nothing after death and I just stop existing, I won't be able to care because I'm dead. so no matter what it works out in the end
