I can't believe the psychiatrist prescribed me SSRIs

I went to a psychiatrist/counsellor about 6 months ago along with my parents for a completely different reason and she talked to me for about an hour and came to the conclusion that I was depressed and gave me an SSRI and strongly recommended me to take it.

Now its a good thing that I know how terrible SSRIs are and didn't take it but its crazy how they can just prescribe dangerous castration drugs for absolutely no reason

The serotonin theory has been debunked so there's no point in taking those pills. If I were you I'd just take vitamin C, tyrosine and add cold showers and cardio to the mix. All of these will increase dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline, giving you more energy in the long run.

I already take vitamin C and I'm not depressed, I just told her very objectively that I do not see hope for myself in the future among other things and all she inferred was depression
