I am OBSESSED with Joker

Unironically I keep trying to figure out why people like it.

I keep watching positive reviews and I guess the flaws are explained away with an "unreliable narrator" excuse. Like all the clocks are all the same time except for one scene, so clearly there's something up. Cool. It's still bad.

Donnie Darko has a similar "Unreliable Narrator" expressing the same themes and ideas, but the characters and sequence of events is still solid. Falling Down is another similar movie with a series of whacky coincidences, but it works because the cops are still balls deep in Michael Douglas' ass the whole time.

In the end, EVERY SINGLE THING that happened in Joker is contrived by incompetence and coincidence and there are better movies with similar messages. I'm fucking burthurt that this is so popular when DD and FD get shafted by the collective conscious.

Please tell me why this is a good movie.

I've always been a Joaquin Phoenix fan but can't get into "Joker" either.

(I am happy though that its given a lot of peace and catharsis to my various incel and wizard brothers out there to watch however)

For me its similar to the time when everyone was creaming and jizzing themselves over "Batman: The Dark Knight".

Yeah, the performances were solid, but the overall movie fucking sucked.

In anycase though, since I have nothing to do (as usual), maybe I'll try and force myself to watch Joker in it's entirety tonight and perhaps I'll like it?

I doubt it though.

Also OP don't worry about Donnie Darko and Falling Down getting their props, as I am an old fag and remember Donnie Darko being absolutely raved about online at times during my earliest years on the interwebz, so I think its gotten it's proper praise and acknowledgement.

Also Falling Down has been noticed by elements of the web and praised, though you may have a point about overall society not knowing about it's existance all that much, but I'd argue that is less to do with the movie's overall quality, than when it was released, which was I believe way back in 1993 when I was 13 years old, so uhhh yeah, can't really expect retarded millenial and zoomer cucks to pull themselves away from their hentai porn, Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon games and cartoons, to dredge up quality entertainment such as that old Michael Douglas classic, but again at least people like us and a few others with good taste know all about it and tell others about it whenever we get a good opportunity to do so such as now.
