Think about it: suicide makes no sense UNLESS you think your situation has absolutely no chance of ever improving.

I can only see four possibilities:

1. People afflicted with an untreatable disease
2. People condemned to death penalty or life in prison
3. People suffering from clinical depression and mood disorders, which warp your thinking
4. People who are physically ugly and who are always treated worse than others because of it

The disagreement I have with the psychiatric community is about the extent to which 3/ and 4/ overlap significantly.

My personal working hypothesis is that 3/ and 4/ are significantly linked: ugliness and involuntary celibacy in males tend to cause mood disorders.

If one day, a quantum AI allows us to explore all events that ever happened in the universe, I am certain we'd see a heavy correlation between male ugliness and suicide.
