That's what keeps the blue pill and blue pilled people alive. I understand why it would be evolutionarily advantageous, nature can't have the bottom tiers of the population committing suicide just because their situation really is hopeless.

And yet here we are, and even those of us that know how hope works still fail pray to it.
TFLers like myself get told countless times by our friends and family that we are not that ugly, that we just need to "put ourselves out there"...
The insidious thing about it is that we really really want that to be true, and we delude ourselves into thinking that maybe we are worthy of getting a sign of affection from another human.

This is why I call it fairy-braiding/ hapypclappy honeyfilling. Or whatever.
This essentially comes to what I am talking about completely.
A post I would make finally by somebody else here.

He who does not become productive pessimistically must endure that which wasn't halted.

The difference between whining and venting are interpretative (but whining has its place).
Whining is where you talk about someone having a low pain threshold.
Venting is where you try to preach the insensibility in order to acquire intersocial vindication from those who also see fault in it.
We are a tribal, wrathfully rallying race. We need to have will built on ranting, rage, venting.

There's productive pessimism, and peurile pessimism. I encourage the productive.

It is rare for people to achieve productive pessimism, but I'm living proof it can be done.
