I'm thinking of romantic and sexual relationships here.
We're more isolated than ever. Dating apps are thriving, and they’re contributing to the very problems we're all suffering from.
Women outnumber men in higher education in most western countries and not getting into marriages, which could be a contributing factor to the falling marriage and birth rates.
People tend not to commit to relationships anymore, and the so-called 'situationships' have become the norm, which practically means they have sex and do things like they're in an actual relationship, but there's no commitment and can leave whenever they feel like and can freely date and have sex with other people. As you may know, these "situationships", in most cases, are basically soft harems for high SMV guys.
We're seeing a slight shift from monogamy to poliginy.
You may think it's not really affecting us how dating will look like in 2045 since we're left out of the dating pool, but the potential continuation of declining fertility and birth rates could indirectly affect us, single guys. For example, governments might introduce bachelor taxes or childlessness taxes to compensate for the lost tax revenue from a shrinking workforce.
So, what do you think? Taking into account all of the above: how could dating look like in 20 years?
Most of you here are in your early 20s (including myself), and in 20 years we'll be in our early to mid 40s if we make it that far (kind of doubtful in my case).
