Well it finally came. My fluke meter came and damn is it badass. You know how when you use a clamp meter to mesure amperage you need to mesure only one side of the current? FUCK THAT SHIT! Fluke has a better option. Just use the jaw to messure the voltage. Literally.

With the feild sense feuture you can use the jaw to mesure the voltage without needed the butt plugs. Granted there are 2 catches. The whole wire needs to be at the bottom u shape you see on the metter, same for Hz and A for the metter to messure it. 2nd catch is you are gonna want a ground reference ideally on or near were there is ground for the circut your fucking with for a more accurate reading. Oh and a 3rd catch is the jaw will be a bit less accurate then using the butpluggs as I tested it myself.

So yeah the future is fucking now. (Couch cough klien). And wile klein has many other feutures fluke is missing out on like being able to mesure temp from a adapter that connects to the ports, klein is kinda a jack of all trades type meter and I think it can also measure DC amps. But comon, DC amps? The only use I can see for that is doing trouble shooting on a EV or maybey some DC compressor motors for HVAC systems.

Wile the jaw is a bit of a pain to use as you need to get that sweet alignment, its still a badass feature that you dont see from anything else I found so far. If your like me and you want to become a electritian, get this. Itll do almost every thing you fucking need it to do. Just be ready to bust out 3-4 benjamin franklins for one. Also this fluke meter is called the T6-1000 pro. And it has the right to that name as good as it is.

But before you get one, learn how to use one first. Get gud before you get one so you dont fuck it up.

So this is a tool for mesureingnaspect of electricity. The most common and well know type of meter is the multi meter but multimeters are good for side shit outside of the top 3 electrical mesuremenst(Volts,Ohms and Amps).

So as a alternative there is the clamp meter. It can mostly do the 3 basic mesurements and probably more but the clamp allows you to messure amperage just by having the clamp around one half of the circut.

What I have takes it a step further and allows you to messure amperage along with either frequency or voltage at the same time without using the typical method witch is good for messuring wire voltsge without needing to open the wire and use the prongs from the multimeter. The tools good for residential electrical most of the time but it cant do the more nerdy shit from a multimeter but a multimeter is mostly good for electronics somtimes capacitors basicly things I have not encountered so far.

Brutal. Sorry for fluke mogging. I feel guilty. I remember feeling mogged when I was stuck with a 360 during late 2015 when everyone else I knew had a PS4 or XBONE.

Now Im envious of those who dont suffure symptoms if chronic Apendicitus since Ive been dealing with that shit for over a month now.

I got a 2nd hand fluke 115 meter because I only wanted to buy one good meter. I got it on eBay but think it was stolen off a guy because it was used and dirty but the price as good.

Use it for small projects mostly, I don’t mess with AC or commercial.
