Well a peice of advice to anyone who wants to blow a shit load of money on a fancy ass tool. You should learn how to use that tool before getting it and all the details on how it works.
Other wise you wont really be able to make your moneys worth. Case in point for me is my fluke T6 1000 pro. For the low low price of 400$ you can get a jaw meter thats basicly a clamp meter in a deformed body. And if you dont know how to use it then itll bite you in the ass.
Now the T6 and other clamp meters by fluke (get those instead) has this uniqe feuture call feild sense were you can use the bottom of the jaw to measure the voltage without the butt plugs. Well almost. You see AC current be fucking around with that sine wave. And if you just put the jaw in the wire and dont have a ground route set up youll get somthing way off the real voltage as you see here. The meter is true RMS. RMS is the real voltage supply if Im correct its what amount of voltage it flowing to fucko-land. The equation if you get the whole ass sine wave it this (PP×.5) ×.71
Now the ground IDK how but without the proper ground route will be way off. And by ground route I mean you need to unplug the common wire from the butt plug, put the wire in a teeth clamp and attatch the clamp on a ground peice of metal idealy the ground wire but the metal flaps on the bottom of the recepticle works too. That will give you the proper reading.
Or you can do it the amish way and put the buttblugs in the line/common side of the outlet. But I pht this on for a reason. Before this test I remember getting wacky readings and I thought what if I got scammed of 400$? Well thank god I did the test. The problem isnt thebmeter as its that I didjt know how to use it. And thats my fault I wont lie. But also if you want to do somthing like a trade. You need to put your brain before arrogance or stupidity.
Another thing I recomed the fluke clamp meter wkth feild sense over this because thebjaw is way harder to use then a clamp I used a no name clamp meter and this T6 1000 pro and yeah its a massive skill gap difference.
