I heard that striving for a rebirth in pleasure realms is not as ideal because one would spend all his time engaged in sensual experiences which causes him to spend all his 'good' karma without accumulating any new one, which means his rebirth will be in the lower realms.
yeah there are some sects who think pleasure realms are bad for karma. personally I don't buy that and see karma as a meme. I only believe in pleasure lands concept not karma

Regarding the fall in realms after enjoying urself in the pleasure realms, I feel it can be observed in our everyday lives, we seek for the highs and afterward our mind always returns to a neutral or sad state before we crave for the sensation again.
The pleasure sensation cycle is def everywhere. For me my version of Buddhism is mixxed with some New Age Beliefs(specifically Neville Goddard), where your able to control your after life via intention and belief. As such I believe it's def possible to stay in pleasure realms indefinitely and move on when your really ready.
