How the psych ward changed my mind on gun control

I used to be a young idiot.
Most of you probably think I am now an old idiot.

But, I saw first hand that the gun control fantasy is just….well….a fantasy.

Gun control activists like to dream that if we just got rid of all the guns, we’d all become peaceful.
That if no one else has a gun, then they don’t need one to protect themselves either.

Well, having no guns works really well……if you are 6’5” and weigh 300 pounds.

It’s not so great if you’re 5’1” and 110 pounds.

There are no guns in the psych ward.
There are not even any weapons at all in the psych ward.

And guess what?
Fights happen all the time.

Thugs without guns will just use knives.
Take away knives and the thugs will use baseball bats. And so on.

The harsh reality of humans is that we are predators by nature.
That is why humans have teeth for cutting meat not just vegetables, not teeth like a herbivore.
It’s why human eyes are on the front of the face, like a lion. Not on the side of the head like a deer.

Humans will never have world peace.
