In nearly all societies the bureaucracy and inefficiency just keeps growing exponentially until the whole thing implodes into a pile of poo shit, like seen in the Soviet Union and many others. Like in the UK every time they try to reform their national health system they end up with less workers and more bureaucrats and more very highly paid 'friends of the party', up high in the management/bureaucracy. Taxes go up, but services to the public go down.

Why did Zuckerberg at Facebook do brutal layoffs and reforms at Facebook. Because he is a nice guy.. nooo.. its because it was his money on the line, the value of his shares had fallen by more than half, and if changes weren't made the company would be worth nothing in time.

Whereas in socialism the highly paid bureaucrats at the top, its not their money how the health system does. If there just is less services for people, and taxes go up to pay for the big swinging dicks at the top bonuses.. thats the money of the taxpayers. This is why monarchy was so much more enduring. It actually was the Kings money and the Barons, Lords, Dukes, Counts, Princes, etc. Those men had a very real interest in 'making it work'.

In socialism say you are a highly paid manager who was a friend of the party appointed to your position. You get $400k a year if the system does well. And you get $400k a year if the system goes to shit. So what you do is you try not to do anything and just collect your money, then retire with a giant pension.

Thanks the above is why the governments in Europe are trying to outsource public services to the private sector. Its like with the military, the private arms manufacturers have to compete for the weapons systems contracts and maintenance contracts. Companies which do a good job tend to get more contracts over time, while others with 'issues' tend to get less contracts over time.

Even in systems like the national health system, there has always been more outsourcing than people think. They never built the buildings, did the electrical, plumbing, etc. The pharmaceuticals and medical tech things were always private sector working on contracts. The NHS doesn't build the ambulances, and on and on.

Good points. Private sector will always be forced to optimize harder than the public sector. So you'll always see tons of bloat in the public sector. And in many cases this bloat does nothing but slow shit down without actually contributing anything of value.
