Wow. I can't live with anyone tbh. I only had one flatmate during my life when I was in college, but I couldn't stand living with him since he had a gf. So all my efforts were directed towards making his life harder. I used to deliberately leave dirty dishes in the sink, shower for hours and leave the bathroom in an abysmal state, etc.

This is the billion-dollar question. When you've got something you REALLY love to look forward to, I guess this is doable. But what we want is a relationship--and it's just what we can't get. Unlike a craving for sugar, the craving for human intimacy can grow STRONGER the longer it goes unfulfilled. Making being a wage-slave doormat all the more painful. I have no idea how others cope with this.
