It's happened to me for quite a while. I never know how to respond. I almost always say "yeah" and then they don't elaborate further. What, should I be honest and tell them how I really feel, would that ruin the mood?

My dad will often ask me. I often pretend nothing is. I know he obviously cares about me but there’s obviously nothing he could do to help me and every time I try to explain why things are hopeless (particularly with dating), he doesn’t get it.
