Call him out on it?, what would that accomplish, I start a fight and I get further humiliated and he goes from just being superior to me in rhetoric to displaying it to others and making it a reality, that doesn't sound like a smart plan to me

Depends on how far he takes the taunting tbh, I won't fight him then and there, but I may look for him, find him and kill him. No point fighting someone who is stronger than you, better to just kill them when they are at their weakest

Now if I have a legal gun on me, that's a different story, then I'd be "calling him out on it" like you say without hesitation, because if he initiates the violence first with witnesses present, I can shoot him, I'll aim low as not to kill him, straight at his fucking knees, a few months in a hospital bed will give him the reality check he needs

I do agree with that. It's just that people that made some efforts at least has excuses to act smug or boast/brag.

It can be considered meritocratic, in theory, because they could be using their efforts as the basis of their high self esteem, not their genetics.
