I don't think pharmaceutical companies can ever hack the brain to that localized of an extent. The difference between emotions is differential activation of different parts of the brain in patterns. Second thing, Nobody dies from "smoking" or "obesity". They die of bronchitis, cancer, pneumonia, etc. The obesity was upstream from the heart disease. The loneliness is an upstream cause of latent downstream effects. It's possible to be lonely, than take up drugs, than die of an overdose.
