I first discovered the game in 2020 by watching a YouTuber play it. I did not get the chance to play it myself until 2021, and I really liked it. I had a pretty large amount of playtime and it began to become my favorite game ever. That was until in 2022, somebody I knew started to play it a lot. At first I was fine with it, but then they made it their whole personality. They couldn't go 5 minutes without mentioning the game. I got really annoyed with it, but tried to ignore it. But it just kept on happening to the point where I deleted the game and stopped talking about it. They absolutely sucked all the joy out of the game for me, and made me hate it. The same person did the same with the TV show Dexter but my love for it is too strong for me to stop liking it fortunately. Is there a reason why this happens to me?

Who is this person? If you hate them talking about that stuff then they must not be a friend so why talk to them at all

normies ruin everything they touch

Its hard to explain, we are friends but I really hate it when they find something I like and dik ride it until I lose interest.

I'm so drunk that I read RDR2 as R2-D2

i hated the game at my second play through. Game got release in a period there was no games that interested me, as such hotdog became a steak. Once i played it again when other shit caught my eye, i started to view the game more critically. RDR2 is one of those games that is good for the first run, and hell on any other run

Always thought it was boring & overhyped when I first played it back in 2018

That person sounds like a normie who overhypes whatever is trending atm.

It sounds like you're experiencing a phenomenon called "secondary negative association." It's when something you once enjoyed is negatively associated in your mind with a person, event, or thing that causes bad emotions for you. It can happen when someone/group you know starts to talk about a game, show, or anything you loved a lot but in an extremely annoying and repetitive way.

This negativity then transfers to your feelings for the game, even if it's not the game's fault.

What I would tell you is to never let others ruin things you enjoy.

Rdr2 is my favourite game, I don't know why everyone here hates it so much

Interesting.

It’s not historically accurate unfortunately arthur morgan cant be rayzyst

Arthur morgan is a white knight cuck little fag ass bitch and im glad hes dead. I played it last year and when it made me go to valentine and save 2 bitches from getting beaten i uninstalled that shit and searched up "Does arthur morgan die" and to my great happiness he does. I hope tuberculosis is the fate of all white knights.

Sounds like PTSD

Sounds like PTSD
It's similar but not exactly like PTSD, which is the result of trauma. Secondary negative association is more about the negative association your mind starts having with something you love after it's been repeatedly associated with an annoying person/group/thing.

Happened to me when an artist I like got popularised by retarded normies on tiktok.

he is a band-wagon tbh. I was talking about The Batman (2022) and he said he didn't like the movie at all and thought it was bad. As soon as it gained more popularity through social media, he started quoting the movie and saying he's literally Batman.
