Serious How do you get by as a NEET?

I know this thread has probably been made before, but oh well.

I'm a 20-year-old NEET at the moment. I've been pressured into getting a job for the last three months now and it's starting to get to the point now where it really seems as though I am quite literally unemployable. No matter how hard I try, I never hear back from anywhere I apply to. Meanwhile I just sit at home 24/7 and do near-to-nothing, just rotting away in loneliness. I can't imagine going years like this, yet some of you have...and that fact alone is just baffling to comprehend.

How do you cope? What's your experience as a NEET? Any advice for trying to endure this lifestyle? Do you ever see yourself escaping NEETdom?

Unless you're already rich. Raphael Enthoven, a french "philosopher", stopped working at 40 as a teacher to NEET because he considered he had made enough money to "survive" until his death. However, he also writes books from time to time and is pretty famous, so it's kinda hypocrit from him to say he barely have enough to "survive".

Just be rich already tbh.

Been doing that since I turned 18, 27 now, with sporadic wageslaving sprinkled inbetween the years. Vidya is how I coped mostly living with parents. My situation changed drastically not too long ago, no longer living with parents.

Now I mostly cope with being on here and browsing other sites. Borderline homeless, I scrape by and go days without eating a thing. Steal and bum off others for food. I'll escape with suimaxxing at some point.

Interesting... I've actually never heard of this person before, but I might do some more research on them and their works sometime, perhaps.

Yeah... I have wondered if, over the next few years I'm just going to be working small, menial jobs on-and-off. It seems quite possible, and I've heard many NEETs tend to do that. Vidya and Incels.me are great copes. I'm sorry to hear about the near-homelessness situation though... I worry that could be my fate too. Just gotta keep enduring as long as you can...

The only way to really be a NEET with a tranquil conscience is being rich enough to pull if off or having some long term plan such as renting properties/rooms.

If you're poor and/or have lots of siblings or no properties you'll have to get your money from somewhere, being a NEET is just postponing the point where things will crash down on you, and the latter, the worse.

Nah I live with family (not parents) temporarily, wont last as my relationship with them ain't all that great. Like you said "just postponing the point where things will crash down on you". So I'm doomed in more ways than one. Future has never looked more bleak.

Yeah NEETing is only ever temporary unless you got some kind of passive income. It's really just a death spiral in the end. But damn of it's not peaceful while it lasts, not a care in the world to be had while NEETing and coping with vidya, enjoy it while it lasts. Although ideally you want to avoid it, it's very alluring but like I said it's a death spiral.

I'm sorry for you. I wish I could give you advice, but I'm also pretty much fucked except for the fact I have a good relationship with my family and a house. What I can say is that you're still 27, still somewhat far from the doom that is reaching 30. Maybe you can try a last attempt to fix your life. Get something to motivate you like meds, Idk. You probably don't have the money for TMS just like me...

For sure, I plan to at least make an attempt to fix these shit circumstances once I find the motivation. Wont be easy at all, the only other options are homelessness or death but whatever happens, happens.
