How do you feel about filler in Anime?

I revisited Naruto earlier and realized that there are stupid levels of filler. Most are negligible but some are really enjoyable especially when they give light to the underused characters.

Black clover had some filler and it was shit,never watched Naruto. In general,filler was fine to me before but I got burnt out of anime and then it was just boring asf

Filler episodes by definition are episodes where the events transpiring are absent in the source material. Monster however has been faithful to the manga in its entirety

Then the manga itself had filler arcs, because there's a bunch of shit unrelated to the story that isn't brought up again, like the former mercenary with the adopted Vietnamese refugee girl. I didn't find the filler in Monster to be that offensive, though. seen way worse

Those are all by definition "canon". Irrelevant to the primary plotline, yes. But canon nonetheless. From what I could infer from the anime analysts on jewtube, those episodes served to humanize Tenma and add some obscure layers to the theme of the main story and other characters or something along those lines. Yeah but they were executed pretty well regardless.
