Doxxing is simply analysing information online published by the user and using that to attain information on them.
For example @Napoleon de Geso has marked on a map before which city he lives in.
He's also taken many pictures of him in public places.
If someone lives in the same city it's very easy to determine where exactly that picture was taken and likely the season.
As most people live their lives online, they'd just search for images taken with those tags and hopefully get a name.
From that it's really not hard to get an address. A fair amount of people have businesses with their home address which can be acquired just by a search of their name.
Basically Doxxing is just reverse detective work based on what you post online.
IP grabbing links may be used to speed up the process and determine the location along with information posted by the person being doxxed.
E.g. If I said I live ontop of a KFC and someone had my IP address (which is normally accurate to quite a few miles), they could use that and other stuff I post to determine address who I am etc.

I deliberately give misleading information at times so nobody actually knows where I am/might be or who I am.
If you don't have social media that basically makes you dox proof.

Exif gps data on phone pictures. Posting pictures of your surroundings. Posting uniquely identifiable pictures of your room.

1. Posting too much info about themselves. There are websites that will report names of people who live in places based on registered voting (USAfags, don't put your full name online)
2. Re-using usernames. Nobody did this shit in phpBB age, are you fucking retarded to do this now?
3. Posting screenshots of other social media, e.g twitter. Sometimes tards tend to use the same username on one platform as another.
For example: I knew one fatarse from uni that I didn't like, saw a comment on the same year profile, looked at his page, he had the same facebook custom url the same as his bad-dragon username. Dude even had the same cropped dragon porn pic.
4. Posting matching images. Google reserve image search exists. If you post an image on one website, and then post it on another, it will most likely showup. Now, while not perfect, even if you crop it, it might show up. I once tracked a bitch down claiming she worked for a major "game company" in youtube comments by:
Googling her by username->finding her deviantart->reverse image searching an image on her deviantart->finding her website with her portfolio->website contained a link to her linkedin with her employer.
Don't share your info.
