Do you thank God for your subhuman face? How does it work?
This reminds me of Schopenhauer. He agrees with your second paragraph but considers that a good thing. From what I know, a Christian should actually thank God for that but it seems quite hard. You know, 'And if thy right hand offend thee, cut if off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.' Basically, we were saved from ever being sluts or narcissists.
As for the question in the title, I'm currently conducting a research on sociology of death, and, lo and behold, those less fortunate see death as salvation from this life, and thus they would, probably, be even more likely to believe in God, who promises them true happiness after death.
Huh, I should actually read Schopenhauer. It's funny when you remember that it was him who made a random neighbor disabled or somethingThis reminds me of Schopenhauer. He agrees with your second paragraph but considers that a good thing.
"Unjust or wicked actions are, in regard to him who performs them, signs of the strength of his affirmation of the will to live, and thus of how far he still is from true salvation, which is denial of this will, and from redemption from the world; they are also signs of how long a schooling in knowledge and suffering he still has to undergo before he can attain it. In regard to him who has to suffer these actions, however, although physically they are an evil, metaphysically they are a good and fundamentally beneficial, since they assist him along the road to his true salvation."
Yeah he pushed a foid who was being loud off the stairs.Huh, I should actually read Schopenhauer. It's funny when you remember that it was him who made a random neighbor disabled or something
