It's good. I get my government cheese due to depression and autism.

I imagine NEET can be great or horrible depending on your relationship with your parents. Right now my dad's broken his hip and has developed pretty severe dementia to the point he can't even be alone for 10 minutes. Add to that he gets cranky, and life sucks pretty bad.

To me not having to work has allowed me to focus on my own personal vocations and studies. Of course none of it went anywhere, but... well...

We are lucky that we die.

Yep. My dad broke his leg and had to take time off of work because of it, he was a mail carrier and couldn't walk. They had a private investigator up his ass too.

If you're claiming a physical disability then good luck trying to fake that. I have real chronic back pain that can leave me in a chair, but I can still walk sometimes and go to work, so I'd be fucked if I tried to get welfare. Hell, I had someone claim I was faking the pain because I could walk one day and was trapped in bed the next.

Basement is top tier for adult children. Allows you to come and go without alerting anyone else via the basement door. Some basements even have a seperate kitchen that allows you to live a completely isolated life. My parent's old house was setup like this and it seemed like neet paradise. Basement had a shower+bathroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and one extra room that was used as an exercise room. Back door even had it's own separate key.

Of course I didn't get that. Was given to my sister and her child that was born out of wedlock.

I have never done simple things like going to the supermarket and buying stuff I literally lack a vast majority of basic knowledge which has affected my mentality. I live by myself, but I'm extremely frugal, my only real pleasures in life are books and coffee, which are inexpensive. Games/TV/anime/etc can be pirated. I get some money for my birthday and at Christmas, which I keep for when I need new clothes and other essentials. I've been unemployed since I graduated in 2012, about half of that time has been spent WoWmaxxing (until I quit last year), half of it on placements and training courses forced on me by the job centre.

There are two big downsides to the NEET life. The first one is that my standards of living have gradually eroded. I have to consider the financial aspect of everything I do, even for something like the cost of heating water for a bath or using the oven. This is what really wears me down mentally, and I've been trying really hard to find work lately, which leads me to the second downside, my social skills are pretty much non-existant because of my isolated lifestyle. I express myself well on paper but crumble in interviews. I can't relate to people anymore and I get dizzy when I have to go to crowded places. On top of that there's just this sort of mental regression that sets in, a slow-acting but deadly poison.
