This is no longer required though. Humans "won" so to speak. We have no natural predators anymore, other than eachother jfl. Especially in well off countries, we aren't struggling to survive, we are at the top of the food chain. We own the entire planet. People can live comfortably doing literally nothing nowadays. There's no need anymore for such strict sexual selection, given we will survive anyway. We can literally keep people who are turned into vegetables alive. We live in a world where such competition isn't really needed anymore. We should all be allowed to live happy lives with the same opportunities.
While of course this wont happen because a lot of it is just ingrained into the species, and the fact that people are still shallow, selfish assholes a lot of the time with their own prejudices and bias, and therefore selection can still be strict. In the modern world, it's just redundant. Society preaches "equality" nowadays, but theres no such thing. There is no equality of opportunity, of circumstance. Bias ensures this. Most people have no reason to care either. So yeah it's a shit thing to have to be subject too. Excluded from a happy life.
