Serious How can some people be volcels?

Like seriously, unless someone is literally impotent or have some abnormal psyche, I can't imagine a situation to decide voluntarily to live in a celibate, even most of the catholic priests have some side chicks unofficially (unless they are straight up fucking kids). Humans are not designated to live alone, without some at least romantic love.

So why some people are choosing voluntarily to live like us? My mind literally can't figure it out
