Hitler’s (alleged) remote mansion resembled the infamous Berghof near Nahuel Huapi Lake in Patagonia.
DISCLAIMER: THIS IS ONLY A THEORY; NOTHING HAS BEEN CONFIRMED.
We all know who Hitler was and that our history books say that he "died" in 1945 in a "suicide" pact with his newlywed, Eva Braun.
However...
What if this were another distraction (https://www.CIA.gov/library/center-for-the-study-of-intelligence/csi-publications/csi-studies/studies/vol-58-no-3/operation-paperclip-the-secret-intelligence-program-to-bring-nazi-scientists-to-America.html) while the Führer was whisked away in a shadowy plot to ensure he would not fall into the clutches of advancing soviets?
Historian Abel Basti detailed a hypothesis in a new edition of his book, “Hitler in Exile,” published in Argentina. This account is now making headlines, even with such mainstream media as the Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.co.UK/entry/hitler-escaped-germany-and-lived-in-paraguay-until-his-death-in-1971_UK_5786109ce4b08078d6e78435).
“There was an agreement with the US that Hitler would run away and that he shouldn’t fall into the hands of the Soviet Union,” Basti said (http://sputniknews.com/art_living/20160707/1042607203/mystery-hitler-faith.html).
Basti believes that Hitler escaped to safety through a tunnel beneath the Chancellery, which connected to Tempelhof Airport, where a helicopter was ready to whisk the dictator away to Spain.
After first traveling to the Canary Islands, Hitler traveled to Argentina on a U-boat, where he lived for ten years before eventually settling in Paraguay under the protection of dictator Alfredo Stroessner.
“Wealthy families who assisted him over the years were responsible for organizing his funeral,” Basti explained.
“Hitler was buried in an underground bunker, which has since become an elegant hotel in the city of Asuncion.”
“In 1973, the entrance to the bunker was sealed, and 40 people attended to say goodbye to Hitler. One attendee, Brazilian serviceman Fernando Nogueira de Araujo, recounted the ceremony to a newspaper.”
Basti is not alone in this theory:
A CIA operative with 21 years of experience, Bob Baer (http://www.history.com/shows/hunting-hitler/cast/bob-baer), and “one of America’s most elite intelligence officers,” described a similar narrative in a documentary series for the History Channel called Hunting Hitler, which aired in 2015.
Baer and his team claimed they discovered proof that Hitler escaped, using 700 pages of declassified FBI documents (http://humansarefree.com/2015/02/FBI-quietly-declassified-secret-files.html).

It is the firsthand account of someone named Guydano who was sent to meet Hitler and his party (fifty people in total) as soon as they landed from submarines in Argentina, two and a half weeks after the fall of Berlin.
Guydano explained that six Argentinian top officials arranged this affair, and he was ready to reveal their names as soon as Hitler was caught. He was convinced that it was only a matter of time before Hitler was going to be apprehended and feared that he would be accused of being part of the plot.
