Her father Aung San is regarded as the founder of Burmese independence. Despite this Aung San Suu Kyi whilst studying at Oxford University fell in love with a lower tier normie Englishman named Michael Aris. Michael died in 1999 but has an identical twin brother which is a bit creepy tbh.
