One of the partecipants of the battle on the turk side actually had Italian origins IIRC. Later he became Grand Admiral of the Ottoman fleet.

On this day in 1571, the Holy League triumphed over the Mudslime invaders from Turkey.

Various European maritime states all contributed to the victory here, resulting in a stagnation to Ottoman expansion into Europe.

Kebab was removed.

Why do people say muslims, Instead, of Arabs/turks? Muslims are not a race, just like Christians aren't a race. I swear this annoys the shit out of me, zoomer historian should know better.

I am not a naval commander saar but I presume they could have fielded long cannons on their ships to fire and destroy enemy ship bodies and crew and given their sailors lots of crossbows to shoot on enemy crews

Ok saar. Thanks

They're being inclusive of your paki/Bangladeshi brothers
Neither, Pakistanis not Bangladeshis were present in the battle of Lepanto.

We need another one of these to happen

They were all Indians at the time, but they all like to flaunt Ottoman's achievements on Twitter so kikes are pandering to them

Many of the fleet in that battle was of that from the North Italian maritime States such as Venice, Genoa, etc.

I probably have ancestors who fought in that battle lol

I think it's because the European side was under the banner of the "Holy League" so from our perspective, it's a religious struggle

The Ottoman side had both Turks, North Africans, and probably some Muslim Greeks on it.

Indeed we do, it would be epic.

Yeah, but I was talking generally. It's almost like very few people know the difference between muslim and Arab. That's why whenever, a white person says "MUZLIM" OR "IZLAM" I know they mean Arabs.

Well well well.....

It's not even a surprise, every other day, I learn of some new high-level ottoman that was european. I've said it before, but the Ottoman empire might as well have been an Albanian-Greek empire, just with a different religion. The twitter zoomer is a retarded faggot tbh for being two-faced when it comes to race/religion

True, I fucking hate it when these white nationalist cucks flip flop between race and religion in the same sentence, but I know why they do it. To a monkey like the twitter OP, they view christianity as synonmous with whiteness, which is one of the reasons he would chimp out if you point out his god is a sand nigger from palestine.

It's moreso about the twitter OP's wording. He wants to make it into a race war when it was religious at best. He wants to make it seem like it was some attempt by Europeans to keep out brown people, when it was just Christians trying to keep out Muslims. Not the same at all. And this is once again just another example of what I've said, christianity will never be compatable with white nationalism, which is why you have that Zoomer guy drowning in such cognitive dissounance.

A Muslim Greek ethnic identity seized to exist once the Ottoman Empire became a caliphate. Up until the 16th century the Turks of Anatolia had actually referred to themselves as Rums, which translates to Romans. After the Caliphate was established the Greek identity was removed because in Islam you are not allowed to be proud of your pre islamic heritage.

Muslim Greekness was absorbed and became what we now know as Anatolian Turkish, while Greek became a synonym for Orthodox Christian (Rhomanois).
