Halo 3 Was an Anomaly - Probably The Best Game I Have Played in My Life

Finally decided to come forward and say what´s been on my mind for years now:
Halo 3 might be the best game, I have ever played in my entire life.
I am in my mid 20´s, and still play the campaign over and over again, I just can´t get enough of it.
Everything about Halo 3 is perfect, especially its atmosphere.

He took the words right out of my mouth, that I´ve been trying to articulate as in why I like Halo 3 so much.
The case of Halo 3 is pretty much near identical to the ´facial harmony´ case within the lookism / inceldom community.
Facial harmony can´t be explained, you just feel it.
Same with Halo 3: I can´t explain why the game is so good and why it stands out from all the other saga´s within the Halo franchise.

I just want to thank Bungie for making my childhood awesome.

Nah it sucked when compared to H1 and H2 i hated new enemies they were way too tanky to kill and overall game was not as fun as previous games, campaign was a slog, i don't give a fuck about mp. I have no nostalgia for any of those games since i have played them in 2021 for the first time, it was still better than dogshit abomination that is 4 i couldn't play for more than 30min of it.

Nostalgia is a hard drug I bet you could feel the same as me, i actually liked Reach with 1 and 2 the most, rest was not fun at all, well ODST had it's moments but it was too disjoined since you were teleporting from one marine to the other it was really confusing and it forced you to run way too much around hub area but at least they've tried something new.

Then I got around to Halo ODST and that was truly the cream of the crop.

I played halo 2 and thoroughly enjoyed that as well.

I never really got to playing Reach and the others but they just fell off. I can’t believe Halo (and Call of Duty, Battlefield) are fucking dead.

It’s almost impossible to play classic COD multiplayer and Halo and BF multiplayer only have fucking level 9000 addicts so it’s usually a sweat fest.

Feels bad man.

the campaign was amazing yea, i mentioned in the thread something about the atmosphere was top notch

Actually it fucking SUCKED as did Halo 2 (though had the Xbox been powerful enough to make the game like its original E3 trailer Halo 2 probably would’ve went down as the greatest game of all time).

Halo: Combat Evolved on the other hand?

Easily one of the greatest games of all time and the single greatest first person shooter that I’ve ever played as well the greatest most fun campaign I’ve ever played in a videogame or if not then at least it’s gotta be tied with Mass Effect 2, OOT and Star Wars: KOTOR for me in this regard.

So to each their own but I found Halo 3 to be an utter embarrassment and a huge dissapointment.

I especially HATED the jungle sections and aesthetic in general as Halo is supposed to be about Viking Nordic mythology and a distinctly European aesthetic which means environments reminiscent of the forests and fields of Europe not the goddamned Amazon jungle, Bolivia, Brazil and Peru.

Fuck that shit.

There was an asshole on the Halo team at the time that kept pushing for that awful shit.

No surprise at all to me how and why the shitty piece of shit COD inferior series took over as Halo or rather its developers abandoned its roots.

I kinda liked how we switched from fighting the scarab in the desert (the Ark), to fighting the flood in a wasteland on earth.
It was unpredictable, thats what i liked about halo3.

Yeah it wasn’t ALL bad.

Despite what I said it’s still superior to each and every COD game ever.

Even a “bad” Halo game curb stomps every other existing FPS.
