4chan is pretty much a ghost town now. It seemed like every time 4chans user base went outside of the forums it would make the news and change entire website layouts. Now they’re lucky to make a green text hit the front page of reddit.

4chan was fun, but it's shit now like you said. I'm permabanned from there anyway

I mostly used it for porn.

Not really, but what I think happened is the old based users got old and moved past 4chan or just killed themselves.
The new generation moved in and this new generation is more faggot and degenerate than the last.

It was fun for its day. Early /r9k/ and /fit/ had some quality BP and RP material. J00t sold it, and it was pretty much over for the shenanigans as the higher ups made a concerted effort to "clean" it up.

This.

Probably many of the good exile 4channers are posting on .co tbh

you're probs too young to understand but old /b/, /tv/ /v/ and /fit/ were genuinely funny and a nice place to hang out in general, kind of like here

What do you mean I'm too young? I made this thread so I could ask what it was like.

The whole site shit now. Mainly because they affected 2016 so much, so they got subverted fucking HARD. Also a lot of the posters with any real integrity left during the exodus of 2014.

What happened during 2014?

There were a few similar things to nowadays but for the most part it seemed a lot different. You can go on 4chan now and unless you go on /d/ or go on a gore thread or rekt thread you won't see too much crazy stuff. I remember going on /b/ and there would just be all kind of absolutely crazy shit. Half of the threads I would look at, I had absolutely no idea what was going on. It wasn't necessarily gross or violent, it was just strange and unusual. Not strange like "oh that's kind of weird" but seriously weird shit. Don't see stuff like that much anymore but every once in a while I will sill see something that takes me back

It's hard to explain, there is a certain spirit that can only exist in the absence of normalfaggots. It's not just mindless reactionary spamming and hunting for validation, there is collaboration, "memes" are created naturally from insider events. It was very comfortable and beautiful to be part of.
People knew each other just from the way they were posting, there was no need for usernames or avis, it's like you are recognizing someones soul in his posts.
It's all dead and cold now though.

This post made me tear up a bit fml

I dont think /b/ was a "nice" place to be. I didnt like seeing people posting pictures of their dick split down the middle with screwdrivers and things of that nature

Never went there

"Pedo shit" all I did was post a picture of a 15 year old cutie and asked would you smash
Was this recently? I remember hearing tons of people complaining about finding threads filled with child porn. So for them to start caring about it now fits pretty well with how the site has changed.

Yes it was recently. But it wasn't child porn. Just a picture of a fully clothed girl. So yeah, that site is cucked now.

Thats why i dont go to that place

Oh yeah I heard apparently some admin was screwing around with zoe quinn and kept banning thread speaking negatively about her.
I don't know if they were fucking, but ZQ fucks anything with reach and power. No, m00t was banging an SJW and ZQ was in her social circle. This was around the time m00t was trying to launch a new social network or something, so he needed all the simps and thots on his side as could get.

this was back in 2007/2008 or so but i mainly used it for anime discussion and porn.
nobody i knew watched anime (no friends) so i couldn't talk to anybody IRL so i'd hop onto 4chan and talk with other weebs about Lucky Star/Haruhi. There was also a board for posting nudes (/soc/ maybe?) of people in your community/area so I'd hop onto the thread for my state and jack off to pictures of girls I went to middle school/high school with.
Add to that the randomness that was /b/ and it made for great weekends when I literally had nothing else to do and my parents were asleep so all I did was browse 4chan for hours on end until I went to sleep. So much CP. Was a great time.

I started lurking around 2010 so I'm gonna be an eternal newfag forever, but I had my shere of fun. Nowadays, I mostly stick to /tg/ /a/ and /g/. Overall, the quality of posters on almost every imageboard is pretty low unfortunately. Too many kids, fags, trannies, women, cucks and tradcucks.

Strange memories on this nervous night on .co. Ten years later? More? It seems like a lifetime, or at least a main era - the kind of peak that never comes again. Imageboards in the early 2000s were a very special time and place to be a part of. Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run, but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. There was madness in any direction, at any hour. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning. So now, more than a decade later, you can go through some archived posts, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark - that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.

i think i first went there around 2009-2010 i think not sure mainly for porn lol too long ago i forgot

The old internet in general has a je ne sais quoi that you can't find anywhere else. I mean there does exist Vidlii which is supposed to emulate old Youtube and some other sites, but those are small.

It was nice,I used to be a 4chan regular from 2005 until 2013 and it was much better, there was a sense of geeky weirdness in everything it was widely known that everyone there at the time was an autistic weeb and the memes (longcat, the exploding van, leekspin) reflected that, it was like "muh sekrit club" and normies and women were nowhere to be seen,no one knew how moot looked like (people meme'd him being Mexican because a supposed "selfie" he took and posted in the news as April's Fools) so we thought he was cool,he was a fucking normalfag jew all along though but we didn't knew that until 2009 I think.

The moment project chanology started everything started to fall apart, normalfags discovered 4chan while looking for memes and infested the place later,by 2013 it was just too much and I stopped going daily, now I sometimes go to /a/ or /vr/ but not nearly as much as I used too.

There was a saying that described it perfectly:4Chan used to be composed by intelligent people pretending to be retarded (for fun) nowadays it's composed by retarded people pretending to be intelligent

It was a lot more fun and comfy prior to 2014 and has gotten worse every year since. On some of the blue boards you will sometimes find posts and threads reminiscent of the good old days but /r9k/ and /pol/ are basically just extensions of plebbit. I know it makes me sound hipster and I am a hypocrite for using a wojak avi but I hate seeing 4chan lingo and shit on twitter. Just makes you realize that most posters there are normies now.
