One of the Obama administration's bigger failures in terms of energy policy (although, to be fair, the then-Republican-controlled House deserves part of the blame) is their failure to see through the construction of the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository. I blame NIBMYism among Nevadans. The U.S. has no long-term plan for nuclear storage other than dumping it in dry casks on the same site as the nuclear plant. This is a potential safety hazard.

His Tesla coil couldn't transmit electricity without losing a great amount of it and it had it's safety issue. Alot of people say that America stole his papers ( which supposedly had a "death Ray technology" ) but if those papers really had something akin of what people said, USA would be already using it. USA took a not so know scientific paper on how radio waves reflect off surfaces and made stealth technology out of it, it is not possible that they have papers on how to make world changing stuff and they didn't do anything with it.

The solutions have been figured out long time ago, but he politicians are in bed with the industries and their owners, who fear for their assets.
Sure these movements frame it as a simple "stop your bullshit", but this is partly because 1) you can't say the truth directly, because it will alienate potential supporters. 2) The movement is already partially co-opted. 3) The people themselves are already to deeply invested into the system.
It's a political problem, really...
Nuclear costs to much and takes to long. Also the garbage stays a problem. But we should prolly use the remaining power plants until their expiration date.
What are the solutions? If solutions are there why didn't other countries with no lobbying like China didn't adopt them?
If you say Solar, then the price of Solar panels is incredibly high, so high that it might actually take decades to even pay off the cost of setting a solar farm itself. But companies still invest in it ( maybe I am wrong, and they are also thinking in very long term). But still there is no sunlight at night. Setting a power storage facility would be extremely expensive.
Also don't give examples of those Nordic countries that run entirety on renewable sources, there energy demand in nothing compared to USA, China, India, Russia or Japan.
