this is because they have friends. if you have a thriving social structure the relationship doesn't become an end-all be-all factor, and becomes just another addition to your social circle

this is to say, everyone here could benefit from more friends immensely. i myself have no friends and have tried, and have to say making friends now adays seems about as hard as getting a proper relationship.

It's interesting because in high school I had no issue socializing or making surface level friends. The group of friends I knew for a few years in highschool was poorly picked as we had nothing in common outside of school so as soon as we graduated we never talked.

it isn't more difficult to make friends because social skills have degraded. as people get older they have less time and become more invested in things. making friends as you get older becomes more about "what will this benefit me" rather than "is it fun to hang around with this person"

if you don't form a solid friend group early on it becomes mission impossible the older you get
