The one guiding influence that directs the purpose of my life are the Great Books of the Western World. As I sit here and admire the soft alterations of light my lamp produces, I come to realize the aforementioned gratifying fact.

The Great Books of the Western World history series, right?

I’d recommend:
  • Basic Teachings of the Great Philosophers by Frost
  • Mythology by Edith Hamilton
  • Bullfinch’s Mythology
  • Rome by Mackay
  • The Art of Happiness by Epicurus
  • On the Nature of Things by Lucretius
  • Ancient Greece by Martin
  • H.G. Wells’ books (Anticipations, On Things to Come, A Modern Utopia, etc.)

Crime and punishment,
The idiot,
Brothers Karamazov,
Beyond good and evil,
Thus spoke Zarathustra,
Twilight of the idols.
The world as a will and representation.
War and Peace (the whole book)
1984 is master piece by Orwell
The prince from Machiavelli.
Revolt agaist the modern world.
Ride the tiger
Metaphysics of War.
Mein Kampf by Hitler
The Republic-from Plato

I'm glad you asked for some great books.

No, I’m finishing every book in the volume. And the havard classics in a 7-14 year plan young man.

Try Fernand Braudel's works if you are interested in economics history
