So, last week i went into Kmart to buy a sketch case and i saw some gachapon packets; there were MHA, Demon slayer and Chainsaw Man themed chibi figures. I decided to pick out a Chainsaw Man packet and it was 10 dollarydoos so i really hoped for a Makima chibi, and guess what? I got one on my very first try! Otherwise i'd have to keep trying until i got her but i'd just give up because i'm not spending 10 dollars on a packet for something i wont know if i got until i opened it
Its very weird to me that anime themed items are even in major retail stores here, they only started appearing about 2 or 3 years ago. It was super difficult to find anything anime related anywhere; you'd have to find Japanese import stores or anime themed stores in the major cities (unless it was Pokemon) but now since anime has become somewhat normied nowadays, you'll start seeing merch, bookstores have whole manga sections and even bigger figurines in EB games (our version of Gamestop)
This is actually the first figurine or interest thing i have ever brought and displayed, i have always been scared to really show off what i am into so as a later teen and young adult, i never had posters or figurines or manga books or really any merchandise related to anime, vidya or anything i like, I only had an Assassins Creed IV poster when i was 16 or so and that was a christmas present from my brother. And now i'm much older it looks kind of silly to start doing that sort of thing because its like i'm trying to get some of that old youth back. But either way, i'm still pretty happy that i decided to just buy a cheap enough gacha and seal the deal right there and then
