That will just give you muscular endurance. It won't make you substantially stronger. You're just working your butt off for very little gains in strength.

To get substantially stronger, you need to use heavy weights. If you don't have access to heavy weights, then you need to do one-arm pushups or planche pushups to get substantially stronger.

I lift weights too. I have a home gym and I’m improving it slowly. I have a new bench coming in on Monday.

Broly, one more thing. Is that you in your profile picture? If that is you in the profile picture, I have one more thing to say to you: fakecel.

This is what a truecel's body looks like: https://files.catbox.moe/8cgoao.jpg

What type of weights do you have?
If you have heavy a barbell and heavy enough barbell weights and heavy enough dumbbells to go to failure 3X5 on dumbbell bench press, military press, and triceps extensions, then you shouldn't bother with pushups then. Indeed, if you have heavy enough free weights, the pushups will just make you smaller and weaker.

I don’t have heavy enough weights tbh. I need more shit however I don’t have the money to spend on that rn. Will have it soon.

Bro no way you don’t know the man in my avi
That doesn't answer the question, as I don't know you irl either. Are you the man in your avi?

If you don't have heavy enough weights, that will limit you big time. If you are going to do pushups, then you need to do one-arm pushups or planche pushups. Planche pushups are a variation of pushups where no part of your body touches the floor except for your hands.

I did 35,000 pushups when i was 18/19 years old in 1999. I did about 50,000 pushups when I was in high school. I made the same mistake that you're making. I just worked my ass off for very little gains in strength. If I did planche pushups instead, I would have gotten a lot stronger.

Lmao I wish.
Ok. Then you might be a real incel like me.

Remember: IF you're gonna do pushups, you need to do one-arm pushups or planche push ups. If you did 500 pushups a day, it would barely make you any stronger than 200 pushups a day. But if you did planche pushups or one-arm pushups, that would increase your strength about 50% over a few months.

I’ll have them within a couple weeks. Just need a bit more money than the amount I have rn. Ive tried to work out before but stopped since I didn’t have the urge. Now I have changed, I’ve never felt this sort of motivation to be better, ever.

I can confirm I am

I’d slowly try to move to that. Rn I’m doing it for my muscles to get used to being worked a bit before I start with the heavier ones.

I did 150 pushups a day in 6 sets of 25 reps for every 2 days out of 3 from around July 1998 to May 2000. That's 35,000 pushups a year. So I've been there.

How long have you been doing pushups?

Cheers, brother. Remember to get lots of protein. Pork and chicken are good, affordable sources. Eat liver for the micronutrients. And do me a favor. If a woman makes a move on you, shame her and humiliate her until she slithers away back to her own pack.

Yep I’m gonna get some more meat this weekend.

Lol it won’t happen. I don’t have the looks for that.

Mogs me

tody was my 2nd day XD

top g tbh

I didn't know it's just your second day. I would do pushups for about a month before I started trying to do planche pushups. BTW, you don't want to do the pushups every day because your muscles need to rest on some days. Your muscles only get stronger when they rest. That's why I would rest every third day when I did pushups.

Are you doing just one giant set of 200 pushups without resting? If not, how many sets and reps do you do to reach 200 pushups?

I was planning on resting on Saturday cause I’d be busy all day. Both push ups and my normal workout. Rest is a huge part of building strength and muscle and I won’t miss out on it.

Nah that’d be too much lol. I do 10 sets of 20. And then 10 sets of 10 when I’m closer to 200 and it’s harder.
A man of virtue. Good luck.

This youtube video explains how to work up to planche pushups. You can't just go from having never doing planche pushups in your life to doing full planche pushups in one day. YOu have to work up to planche pushups progressively in stages. I'd say you should be able to switch from regular pushups to FULL complete planche pushups in about a month.

Oh yea for sure it’s not something I can do rn just like that. I’m gonna try to work toward it tho since it seems interesting and I’m fine with a challenge.

Based. A lot of (foolish) people think "No pain, no gain" and want to overtrain and do pushups every single day, but that's counterproductive. When my dad was in Basic Training in the Army, they had him do pushups every single day. He said that he worked his ass off and WAS WEAKER when he finished Basic Training than when he started because he never got a chance to rest. My dad would have been stronger if he didn't do any pushups at all.

Brutal. Yea doing the same shit all the time won’t build me up at all. I’m starting off on the lower end and will slowly progress. It’s not gonna be something that happens in an instant and being persistent is very important.
