I've known people like this. They'll agree with you on everything, then if they're talking with someone else who has completely antithetical views, they'll agree with them too. Doesn't matter who they're talking to, could be a libertarian, a communist, a neo-nazi...they'll just be like "yeah, man".
They think behaving like this makes them look "chill" and likable. But the reality is you can never trust someone like this. It's like you'll never know what they are truly like because they behave like chameleons.
That being said, they're much more tolerable to be around than the polar opposite, the perpetual ACKSHUALLY contrarian who feels the need to have a "hot take" on any and every issue and will advocate for it in the most obnoxious manner. Tons of people are like this on the internet because they realize in real life it will alienate themselves...but I have met a few people like that in real life, and while I'm an understanding person, they're one of the few types of people I actively avoid.
Ideally I'd prefer people just say what they truly believe without being influenced by social desirability bias, saying retarded contrarian shit for attention (or to come off as having the most "patrician taste") or hiding behind "muh layers of irony". We're drifting further and further away from this ideal it seems. I blame the internet for enabling both mindless tribalism ("I need to signal that I am "woke/based" at all times so I need to toe the line") as well as elitist contrarianism (they get "ratio'd" but they'll also get lots of engagement/views). Ironically enough, all of this shit from a world that constantly tells people "just be yourself".
