I personally don't like Mongolian people. Something like 8-12% of men in east asia are descended from mongols (y-dna haplogroup C3c).

The Mongols went a western route in their war against the Song dynasty. In their way down south they killed everyone in two major twin cities called Xiangyang and Fancheng.
