I have seen many times that those who get the better jobs are the cool guys who do much better at interviews than the studymaxxers. Job market generally doesn't care about your years studying because experience is much much more wanted and valuable. And between 2 people with no experience the one that gets hired is always the social developed one. He'll get better experience and learning opportunities and will ultimately be a better professional with a better salary.
