Why not? The feeling of building yourself a gaming rig is insane. I remember when i built my gaming rig back in 2015, its was around 2K+ CDN$ and it was the first PC i ever built. I almost jizzed myself when i turned it on for the first time, the feeling is euphoric, i love it to death. I can never go back to consoles anymore. The term 'PCmasterrace' was coined for a reason.

Maxing out a game on ultra settings and playing it out on butter smooth FPS with a high refresh rate monitor that makes everything look silky smooth is something worth experiencing.

You could also buy one or multiple apartments for that money and rent them out.

Yeah, the only time it makes sense to buy a console is at the start of a cycle. At release next gen consoles will probably blow PCs that cost twice as much out of the water in terms of performance, but then PCs catch up.
I'm just not a console guy, I don't associate gaming with sitting on the couch in front of the TV. To me that's almost like pulling out your phone and playing PUBG or whatever on it.
