I don't mean literally but that's what the market dynamics are like.
Things have never been this hard for game developers. The few get all the gamer interest/money, but the most of the rest of game developers are invisible.
well it's because their games are shit
The gamers (like foids) think games are shit these days because of reasons, but they don't see or care how high their standards have risen because they never had more choice at such a low price. And they don't really need games because there's so much content and distractions everywhere.

But at least you can go on Steam and feel kinda like the foids feel when they open a dating app.

Brutal tbh. Valid point

Honestly, the fact that there are plenty of good but completely overlooked games (e.g. MUL.MASH.TAB.BA.GAL.GAL, a cool Pong-like game that no one's heard about because it's on iOS only, or Rodland of Pipes, which is >horrorsloppa but is honestly a pretty fun arcade-y experience similar to the first FNAF games, or some multiplayer titles like Hyper Scape even doe that game deserved it for being made by Ubinigger), or games that blow up then get forgotten forever (gaymes like Lethal Company or Troonfishing, you know the type, though for a less extreme example Texas Chainsaw Massacre would work) kind of shows how much luck and to a lesser extent just already having connections (so that you don't become invisible) is important in...a lot of places, like friends. There's probably plenty of good friends out there you could have, the tough part is letting them know that you exist, or them doing the same in turn. It's kind of bullshit honestly. It's such an important skill, yet it's only important the fraction of the time when you're looking for something, and for shit like relationships that tends to be such a small portion of the time spent doing relationship-related things. It's genuinely insane how much "being in the know" is important, and not just for knowing where to buy le hecking drugerinoos

more like inventors = men, consumers = women

Foids do not make games
