For those unfamiliar, some believe that genial musicians are more likely to die at 27 years of age. Now -- I know it's a bit of a stretch -- but Ted Kaczynski abandoned his academic career at 27 years of age, which marked the beginning of the thorny path he stood to walk if you ask me. Perhaps every true genius will experience a turning point between turning 27 and turning 28 -- the mark of true genius if you will 
As a not-too-shabby mathematician disgusted with the state of contemporary academia and society at large just like Kaczynski, I feel a special kind of kinship. His manifesto resonated with me as well. Who knows what awaits the world when yours truly turns 27... A man can dream, right?
