Every nation has a history and so does Urunya. From the Balkans to a promised island in the southern Pacific, Uruns started as a small clan of Proto Illyrians on the territory of modern Montenegro but as fate would seal it, they ended up on an island in the Pacific. How does this happen? Let's take a look at what we know:

Ancient Origins
1. The Proto Illyrians

1000033222

• Around 1300 BC, the region of present-day Montenegro and the broader western Balkans were inhabited by communities known as the proto-Illyrians. These groups were part of the Glasinac-Mati culture, which emerged during the Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age, spanning areas of modern Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, southeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, and parts of western Serbia. There is some archeological evidence to suggest the modern day Uruns originated from that region and lived in the territory of modern Montenegro until around 1200 BC when they migrated southeast to the territory of Greek Macedonia

2. Greek Macedonia

1000033223

The Kingdom of Macedon and it's expansion
• During 1200 BC the tribe of proto Uruns who were really just a small tribe of Illyrians, lived alongside the Macedons and many other ethnic groups on the coast of the Aegean sea until around 7th century AC when the tribe migrated once again, this time even more eastward. It is not exactly known what drove the Uruns to migrate eastward although there are some theories. The 6th and 7th centuries BC were a time of significant change and development in Macedonian Greece. During this period, the region was largely rural and agrarian, with a number of small kingdoms and city states scattered throughout the countryside. One of the most significant events of this period was the rise of the kingdom of Macedon, which emerged as a major power in the region during the 7th century BC. The kingdom was founded by King Perdiccas I, who established his capital at Aegae (modern-day Vergina). It is possible that the Uruns felt threatened by the kingdom of Macedon most likely because they were a really small tribe and could have been persecuted in the region but considering a lot is unknown about this era we can't say for sure

3. Caucasian Albania and the Great Asia-Pacific Journey
• In 7th century after leaving the Greek Macedonia, Uruns are hypothized to have crossed the Byzantine Empire (modern Turkey) to the region of Caucasian Albania (Modern day Azerbaijan) and according to obscure sources about the Uruns, after arriving to Caucasian Albania, only one small family remained, the rest was said to be massacred in an attack, the details surrounding the supposed massacre are however unknown. Another interesting thing that happened in Caucasian Albania is the family developing a unique language, likely the one they speak to this very day, the language was unrelated to any other although according to some sources the language has some words possibly borrowed from Armenian. There is a lot of mystery surrounding this era of Urun history mostly as a result of a lack of sources. In 9th century, the Uruns migrated once again, this time across the entire continent of Asia, from the Caucasus to Papua New Guinea where Uruns supposedly began sailing across the Pacific. Not much is known about the great migration except for one detail. The remaining family of the tribe had 3 sons, one of them was named Urun. According to the only sources, Urun was fascinatingly the one who lead his family to a promised island using a book which is still available and preserved on the Urun island today. The family clan arrived on the island around 9th century and they have been living there ever since

Lost Records and Major Mysteries
1. The History of the Sea Peoples and their possible connection to the Uruns

1000033113

Egyptian art depicting the Sea Peoples

• First coined by a French Egyptologist Gaston Maspero in 1881, the Sea Peoples were enigmatic maritime invaders who, during the late Bronze Age (circa 1200) launched incursions into Eastern Mediterranean civilizations, particularly Egypt. They are even considered to be one of the leading causes of the late Bronze Age collapse. The true identity of Sea Peoples is unknown to this day and while there are many theories none of them have any conclusing evidence. However it is believed that the Sea Peoples have some possible links to the Uruns and it's not unreasonable to believe they are one and the same. You see, Urun traditional drawings depict men wearing exactly the same horned helmets and spears depicted on the Egyptian drawings, another strange coincidence is the fact, the Uruns even back then while a smaller tribe were very technologically advanced just like the Sea Peoples. All in all, this could be nothing more than as stated previously, a coincidence but maybe there is something more to it.

2. The Urun Massacre
• On their journey to the Caucasus, the majority of Uruns perished without a trace except for one family with 3 sons, Urun (the tribe was named after him), Arz and Tat. The details surrounding the vanishing are very unclear but according to one theory, Urun males might have actively raped Armenian females which caused a tension between the two groups and while very plausible considering the physical features of the Uruns we can't be certain.

3. Urun's Book
• The origin of the book Urun used to find the island is shrouded in mystery. Some believe it was sent to the tribal family by a secret society, others say that it was the result of a divine intervention.

That's it for today. Tell me what you think, give tips on my writing style and stay tuned for the next thread in which we will take a look at Urun culture and society. Below I cited some (not all) sources

Then why create history threads if you aren't competent enough?

AC and BC together create possible confusion about whether these events occurred over centuries or millennia.
Did it take that long ? You say the Proto-Illyrians have left modern Montenegro around 1200 BC and migrated southeast to Greek Macedonia. Then if i read it well the timeline places the Uruns in Greek Macedonia during 1200 BC and eastward in the 7th century AC. Is this meant to be BC ?

The Uruns lived in Greek Macedonia till 7th century AC when they suddenly began migrating eastward and the Proto-Illyrian clan left Montenegro around 1200 BC. So they lived a shorter period of time in Montenegro and a very long period of time on the coast of the Aegean sea

I meant AD, sorry. The idea that the Proto-Illyrians lived in Greek Macedonia for nearly two millennia (from 1200 BC to the 7th century AD) without significant historical documentation or transformation is remarkable.
What is AC?

Definition:
AC stands for “After Christ”, but instead of that we use AD - which is short for “Anno Domini”, a Latin phrase which roughly translates to “In the year of the lord”

Thanks bro,

So there are really 1000 years traveling happening between 3 and 4.

1: 1300 BC - Proto-Illyrians lived in the region of modern-day Montenegro and were part of the Glasinac-Mati culture.
2: 1200 BC - Proto-Illyrians migrated from Montenegro to the territory of Greek Macedonia, possibly due to pressure or threat.
3: 7th Century BC - The rise of the Kingdom of Macedon; Uruns potentially felt threatened and migrated eastward.
4: 7th Century AC - Uruns crossed the Byzantine Empire to reach the region of Caucasian Albania.
5: 9th Century AC - Uruns migrated across Asia to Papua New Guinea and began sailing across the Pacific, arriving on a promised island.

Now I get it ?

Yeah pretty much. The 8th and the 9th century is basically Uruns living as nomads across Asia, their history is however shrouded in mystery and that gap remains mostly unknown. It is only speculated that they spent a period of time on the territory of Papua New Guinea because of some of the drawings and art they have on their island.
Also, I didn't intend the history part to be 100% realistic since that is really not the main focus of the story I'm writing. The main part is yet to be released
