[UWSL]I watched [/UWSL]Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo[UWSL] the last week, a part of my journey to find all the hidden gems of the medium as I've exhausted most of the classics worth watching. This was a very profound and enthralling thriller revenge story that made you captivated by every little detail on par with Monster I watched just last year.[/UWSL]

[UWSL]Very surprising that so few have watched it for such an intricately crafted tale.[/UWSL]

[UWSL]It was a complete masterpiece: incredible story and impressive visuals to match that doesn't look that dated from being from 2004, expected for studio Gonzo that made Hellsing and Gantz, had a beautiful soundtrack accompany it, the performances of the VAs' for the English Dub were decent, and was a faithful adaption of one of the greatest adventure classic novels, the [/UWSL][UWSL]Count of Monte Cristo[/UWSL][UWSL], a genre I love reading most with the Jules Verne novels and [/UWSL][UWSL]Gulliver's Travels. [/UWSL]

[UWSL]Watching [/UWSL][UWSL]how they set up the revenge orchestrated by the Count who came to seek vengeance on all that wronged him two decades ago was so meticulously, you'll forever relish seeing it all unfold at the end.[/UWSL]

My score: 10/10
Score by the audience on MyAnimeList: 8.16
Any criticism of mine would be nitpicking to the overall story.
But here are some of the problems, just inconsequential spoilers to the main story.
In the first episode, there's[UWSL] a transexual character in the first episode not seen in the novel or film adaption; however, nothing ever serious happens with him, "he" was a part of some plot by a criminal gang to kidnap Viscount Albert for a hefty ransom. There's also another questionable scene where the main character kisses the Count's cheek: this is just something a part of French culture only be regarded as one of their customary greetings, [/UWSL][UWSL]La Bise[/UWSL][UWSL]. Thanks for tagging me maybe I watch it. Hellsing Ultimate was pretty dope and much better than the first Hellsing series which had a lot of filler and was very different from the manga, I've never read it but that's what fans say. And Gantz tbh the anime was bad, quite toned down from the manga (which is one of the best I've ever read), also filler episodes and an awful ending because the manga was still ongoing and instead of doing a second season they wanted to end it in season 1, so they gave it a non canon boring bad ending. Also the anime barely covers one third of the manga so you miss a lot of the cool missions and characters from later arcs.

wow thanks gonna watch def

seems good to watch on shrooms

Gonzo that made Hellsing and Gantz
that's all you had to say, hellsing was my first anime and I fucking loved it.
will watch.

I loved that one too, especially with the chaotic fight at the end as London got ravaged by a Nazi vampire attack: should I make a review of it next before or after Yona of the Dawn? It should be a pretty unknown anime for most people here: it was made in 2001 with no teen love waifu (complete sadism if you're not a fakecel):ahegao:.

Yona of the Dawn?
never heard of it and at least a few people have seen hellsing on here so I'd do Yona first.

yea that was in ultimate and it was pretty cool. My favorite part was right before when alucard crashed into the aircraft carrier with a SR-71 and fought that bitch with the musket where she could control the bullet that it shot.

Thanks for tagging me

Will watch

Ok, fine by me.:feelsokman:

The story will be mostly the same whether you chose to watch the anime or the live-action. I just wanted to share this timeless story I found with you all.

I will watch it, thanks for recommendation.

Bro, why can't I private message you?
Anyway, I hope you're doing well, especially with your recent suicide thread:cryfeels:. I found this deep psychological thriller series with lots of influential English and Spanish actors set in the Mexican Drug War named you simply must watch.

Things start slow as you learn about the setting but the tension brews ever greater until it explodes at the movie's end; I'm going to make a review of it this week, so be watching your alerts, man.:feelsokman:

Oh, I forgot to tell you the name of the movie.
There are two in the series: Sicario and Sicario: Day of the Soldado (this is the sequel, equally as great as the first).

interesting. i'll have to watch then, will get back on that ngl
Exactly. If it’s a 10/10 from someone then it definitely seems worth looking it.
