Interesting. Basically, there's a notable amount of studies which found that men overestimate women's sexual interest in them (brutal when your estimation already is that zero women are interested in you), so they wanted to see whether this holds internationally, since most of this research had been done in the US. The study was done by having both male and female participants given a list of affection-showing behaviours, such as holding hands with someone, kissing them, buying stuff for them and so on. The women were asked how likely it was that they wanted sex with a man if they engaged in those behaviours, while the men were asked how likely they thought it was that a woman who had engaged in those behaviours with them wanted sex with them.

Overall, men still tended to overestimate women's sexual interest in them, however, and this needs to be emphasized, a large part of said overestimation was because of a single item on the questionnaire, that is, women buying them jewelry.

Women, who are used to doing so for themselves and having it bought for them, thought nothing special of buying men jewelry, while for the men, the idea of a woman doing that for them made them very sure that said woman wanted sex with them. Once that was taken off, the differences narrowed and mostly disappeared and became insignificant... except for one notable pattern.

That is, American women still rating their sexual intentions much lower than any other group.

Basically, American women rated multiple behaviours showing affection, such as holding hands, complimenting someone, cooking a dinner for someone, and so on, as much less "meaningful" than either American men or both men and women from the other countries in the study. I could be wrong, but to me, this more or less implies that they are more used to faking affection lead their orbiters on, and could be something of a blackpill for the UScels here, since even if you guys manage to find a girl with whom you think you are on a way to ascension because she's holding hands with you or regularly complimenting you, you will have a much higher chance of just being led on by her than hopeful ascendees in other countries.
