I sometimes question whether love really exists or is a product of social engineering. Chicken/egg sort of thing. Humans are inherently selfish, exploitative, and callous. Think about what love is: an irrational willingness to sacrifice for another person. It serves the ego well to convince yourself that romantic love exists, so you can then convince yourself that you can convince others to do you no-strings-attached favors. (You can, if you're Chad.) To love another person is the ultimate form of cuckoldry--you're giving them power over you. Yet, to *pretend* to love another person is a tried and true form of manipulative art, one which the femoid has mastered. After all, who doesn't want to be loved? Women even fool themselves.
