I'm a skinnycel so I decided to give gymcelling a chance. Because of my severe social anxiety it took me eight weeks before I got the courage to even step into a gym. This day was today.

According to my workout program there's only one machine I need for my exercises; the smith machine. There were only two of these and a ton of people were waiting for it to be free, so I had to wait 30 fucking minutes before I could use one. I started with squating. My program told me to start with very light weights, so I started with 20kg (44lbs). After the second set two blonde Chads walked into the gym. They spoke Swedish. While doing my third set one of the guys made a snarky comment about the light weights I was using. He thought I didn't understand him, but I do since my mom is Danish. Gymbros on /fit/ told me that NO ONE WOULD CARE ABOUT WHAT I WAS LIFTING. FUCK YOU! Then the two Swedish pricks used my machine and after WAITING 40 FUCKING MINUTES FOR THE MACHINE TO FINALLY BE FREE I DECIDED TO FUCK OFF AND WENT HOME. FUCK EVERYONE WHO TOLD ME TO GYMCEL!
 
You've never been in a gym and are squatting 44?

I can only handle 35.

But I do sets of 12, are you doing small sets or something?

I am a skinny J-PopMaxxing HafuFrauding boy trying to get lean.

Also no one ever mocked me at my gym.

Gym people are usually some of the friendliest.

You could have used other equipment you know.
 
It's best to exercise/ lift weights at home. Either that or go to the gym at night (24hr gym)

I only do five sets with five repetitions. I do the Stronglifts 5x5 program. I don't have to pay any money to use the gym (it belongs to my uni), but the gym is really small and a ton of people are waiting to use machines. I might have to go to a proper gym, but that will cost me money.

No. I have to stick to my program or it will trigger my autism.
 
@DahmerBoy If your gym sucks you can do almost everything at home with dumbbells and an incline bench. If you like the Smith try doing dumbbell bench presses. A full kit will cost less than 1 year at facy membership gyms.
I work out at the local community center, old people are more encouraging.
Do lots of squats too btw.

I only do squats, bench press, barbell row, deadlift and overhead press. I would have to buy a machine and weights, which could be quite expensive.
 
Don't give up man, never give a fuck about other dickholes, trust me, there are helpful nice people at gyms too.

If you have any 24hr gyms near you then try those. And go between 10pm and 8am, quietest times.

I am a wristlet and footlet maybe that has something to do with it.

I'm getting lean for my waifu but I've been lazy and busy with school and have been there only once in two weeks.

Gotta get back to the gym.

For my curls though I started with 5 and can do 15 now so made some progress.

Lat pull down machine went from 40 to 70 nigga.

Also, the smith machine will leave your stabilizing core muscles lagging behind while forcing you into an unnatural movement range. Just do regular barbell squats. Your spine will thank you.

And don't forget to eat. Skinny twinkcel hard-gainers need to eat.

With progressive overload and nutrition you should have better results.
My 182cm 55kg framecel brother lifts more.
 
It's normal OP to start off lifting light. Everyone does it. Your body has to adjust to the load. Most people honestly don't give a fuck how little you lift.

You're wasting your time starting with the bar. On day 1, you're supposed to give yourself a strength test by increasing your weight gradually until you've found a weight that challenges you without breaking down your form. Eating surplus calories as a skinny guy not challenging yourself will just make you skinny-fat.

I will increase the weights after every workout, so it'll get heavy very quickly. In 12 weeks I want to be able to squat 110kg (242lbs) and deadlift 125kg (275lbs).

My trainer told me it's because I'm not eating enough.

I'm always at a calorie deficit because I hate eating. I also want to be a skinny J-Pop boy.

Thankfully I got some definition in my arms at least but hope it doesn't atrophy away with how long I've been gone.
 
The smithmachine will destroy you after a while. Never use that crap.

Actually, don't go to the gym at all. Bodybuilding is a total ripoff. You are just born good looking. And you can't build muscle for shit without roids.
 
Are you manlet and framecel? That might be why you had a bad experience. Also, smith machine is not that useful. Use free weights or bench or literally any other machine

I'm 6'4" but I have narrow shoulders. It wasn't a bad experience because I couldn't lift the weights, it's because I was mocked and because of the waiting time.

Wtf 6'4? Start stuffing yourself with lots of protein and carbs and do heavy sets with 5-7 reps each set. If you do the right exercises and eat like 4000-5000 calories a day, everyone will be scared of you in the gym after like 3 months

Heavy sets means to muscle fail.

Don’t let two chad cunts run you out of there.

You may also want to consider making a formal complaint to staff. Most gyms come down really hard on members deriding other members.
 
Ignore them or even tell them you just started.

Also a paid gym with a squat rack is better.

5x5 is a good program. Make sure to eat lots of protein.
 
you just got unlucky dude. go at a time when the gym is less crowded, or change gyms. also, DONT use a smith machine. they have an unnatural range of motion which can cause injuries. use a squat rack instead.

those are some good exercises. also do pullups, and when you get good at it start doing weighted pullups. all you need for a home gym is a squat rack, a barbell and some plates.

Make sure you do the exercises right man, I was making some good progress with the 5x5 program until I herniated my cervical disks. Now I cant lift until they heal.

They only made fun of you because they thought no one would understand them. They are cowards who would not say that if they knew others understood them. Stick of free weights, and go at times nobody goes. Honestly I HATE going the gym at 5ish, you get dipshits who legit just hangout at the machine and talk. Go early or in the middle of day/night. Nobody but peeps who just want to workout.

You are an idiot for going to the gym to begin with if you have social anxiety, I'm about to start training to build some muscle, I just bought everything I would need over time to train at home. Just buy a dumbbell and barbell set, maybe a pull up bar, etc. You can drink your protein and do your exercises at your leisure with no sense of pressure, nobody staring at you, teasing you, etc.

To be honest I couldn't focus on the exercises properly if I went to the gym, I'd have to have my headphones on. Too many distractions and too many annoyances. I start training friday.
 
The gym is the new club.. nobody goes to workout anymore. They go to show off their bodies, get instagram pictures, and find Stacie’s/chads. Pay close attention.. it’s the watering hole in the jungle.

No need to wait so long. If you're only squatting 20kg then just drop down to doing bodyweight squats. Or just get one of the 10kg barbells and squat with that on your shoulders. If you go from doing no squats to squatting bodyweight you will gain strength for a while.

Fill a backpack up with weight and squat.

Sounds like a very restricted routine if you can only use a smiths machine.

Why not use the leg press machine too?
